My Christmas Thought for Jay

12.25.2008

Christmas is in the air and it really feels good to be with your family and loved ones in this wonderful time of the year. It’s quite sad that I cannot spend the holidays with my family and friends back home, but fortunately, Jay’s brother- Kuya Rey (and his family) is living here so it lifted up my spirit as we can get to celebrate Christmas Eve with them (again!).

After a very warm Christmas evening at Kuya Rey’s house, we return home the next day to greet our house a merry christmas and to open our gifts as well! Jay gave me a Tinkerbell organizer! Yey! (I love organizers! He also gave me one last year that I really liked, it was Chip ‘N Dale!) I then handed him my gifts, but I noticed that the one that striked him most was the my poem in my card. Let me share them to you.

Looking Through Our Window

11.21.2008

Mt. Fuji at sunrise and sunset

I didn’t know that Mt. Fuji can be viewed from our house not until this cold sunny morning when all the clouds are invisible and the sky is perfectly blue and clear. Jay took this shot in the morning. When we arrived home in the evening, the majestic mountain is still there blending with the dramatic aura of the sunset, we just can’t help but capture its grandness again.
By the way, Mount Fuji (Fuji-san) is the highest mountain in Japan and is one of Japan’s “Three Holy Mountains”. It was once an active volcano centuries ago and is now seated just west of Tokyo which can be seen, like what we’ve experienced this morning, on a clear day. We haven’t climbed it yet, but we’re planning on it.

2nd Monthsary Celebration

10.18.2008

Gyouza feast!

We weren’t able to celebrate our first monthsary since we have been very busy arranging things in the house. So this is our first celebration of our wedding monthsary but actually it’s already the second one. (gets? hehe) Anyway, we just celebrated it simply. We went to watch a movie (Eagle Eye). After the movie we happen to pass by a restaurant and a familiar delicious smell caught us - like a bait clamped in a fish’s mouth, it hooked our noses. Gyouza!!! The restaurant was actually a gyouza senmonten (a restaurant specializing on dumplings) and obviously, everything on the menu list is all about gyouza. We ordered every kind of gyouza(fried and steamed) that were listed on the menu. And as expected of a restaurant specializing on this dish, we were heftily satisfied!

Wedding presents!

08.29.2008

Thank you!!!

After our honeymoon trip in Boracay, we were so delighted to see the gifts that we received from our friends and families that we hurriedly opened them one by one! Most of them are house decors and utensils and we are indeed very grateful coz they will be very useful to us. But what struck us most was the gift from one of our ninongs- the holy family carved in wood. Jay and I both adored the holy family so we are deeply touched to receive this.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you very much for making our wedding gift wishes come true!
